Realsoft.org FAQs (frequently-asked questions)
Category: Main -> Installation -> Windows
I don't seem to be able to install Realsoft 3D V5 on one of my Windows 2000 boxes. Setup.exe shows 'the parameter is incorrect' error. The setup installs just fine on a few other windows 2k systems as well as on XP boxes. Any help would be appreciated.
This is not a Realsoft 3D issue. The error can occur for several reasons. For example, if you run the setup from a network or the path from which setup.exe is launched is too long. Corrupted system files can also explain the problem, in which case you may have to repair your the OS. You can find more information about this problem by searching the web with the "the parameter is incorrect" phrase.
Can I have two installs of Realsoft 3D on a single system?
This is not recommended. The problem is that in Windows the registry and the file association system are based on application name. Also, operating system locates the dynamic libaries based on application name.
